SafetyWorks!

Classes

Year 5 visited SafetyWorks!, a purpose-built, multi-agency, interactive safety centre, serving the community of Tyne and Wear, where the children experienced a range of interactive safety scenarios in impressive, true-to-life settings, helping them learn how to prevent danger and live safely.

The children were able to take part in their summer safety campaign, which focuses particularly on the hazards and dangers that may be experienced during the summer months.

With talks from Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service, the RNLI Lifeguards and Nexus Metro and Blue Cross for Pets, the children were able to access a range of realistic situations illustrating everyday hazards and how to prevent them  such as; how to cross roads or use the metro safely, what do do if someone faints, who to call and how to do it if there is a fire or if someone is in danger in water or even how to approach a dog in the park safely.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their experience have learned many valuable , life saving skills from the visit that will help them to have a safe and enjoyable summer.
